If you don't have Poser and want to play with 3d humanoid figures and animals, it just can't be beat for free. I've been a Poser registered user since version 3 and have version 5 and 6 installed now but got a second license for version 5 anyway since I can put it on my second computer.

Their server has been hammered with all the folks downloading but if you get in, sign up and get it in your shopping cart, check out, you can download it later when the servers cool off - your serial number is given you when you checkout. I don't know how long the download links will be active after purchase but normally it's several downloads allowed for any product you "purchase" (even freebies) and not a time out function. I got in early and got both sections. High speed connection recommended as it's a really large download at 286MB and 344MB for the two parts. It won't seem like high speed with the servers so clogged and folks are recommending using a download manager (one is built into the Opera browser), as their server has cut lots of folks off in the middle of the download and it won't resume. I didn't have the download problems, only used IE6 and no download manager but it was slower than normal.

The two parts, one is the program with the latest service pack already included and one is the the content on the 2nd CD that comes with the boxed product. Try downloading the setup file only first, then get the content file - it is worth downloading with several models included. Folks attempting to download both at the same time tend to have more download failures from what I've read at Daz3d and Renderosity.

The link is unavailable at the moment I guess your posting the link has caused a frenzy of attempted registering that it's overloaded alas! it was ever thus, I got as far as registering and e-mail acknowledgement then on going back into the site it went haywire and is I believe and hope it is temporally unobtainable. thanks anyway for the info Diana.

Yes I have been trying since last night!! with no luck even just getting the Poser main file! I even emailed them and expressed my discontent, they should have alternate download sitles available in my opinion.

While your waiting you should get the free copy of Bryce 5 so you can make some wonderful landscapes and skies to use in your scenes.
