    Default previewing fonts

Usually when choosing fonts, I like to see a word or phrase so I can get an idea of how things will look. What I'd really like to see is the same word shown in lots of fonts so I can choose what I want that much quicker. Any way to do this?

Not from within Xtreme. However, Dmitry Malutin has kindly made his FontSeeker utility available to all, which will do what you require. Get it here: http://www.xaraxone.com/FontSeeker.zip

Yes, this is very cool. Thanks Dmitry. I've been using FastFontSet but your prg is so much better - with all the ways to filter what you want to see.

If you want to check out how a text will look on *any* font on your system, and not only the ones currently installed, check out FontRainbow. It has even more filter methods than the Dmitry's. I give serious thanks for it being pointed out to me in these forums earlier.

AMP Font Viewer is also easy to use:

    http://www.ampsoft.net/utilities/FontViewer.php

It will let you browse fonts that are not installed, but it doesn't have any filtering like Dmitry's Fontseeker, so thank you Dimitry!

Thanks David for pointing out FontRainbow, its not free but looks very interesting.

Unless I totally misunderstood the question I beg to disagree.
Using the font gallery works for me:
