    Question Pen Tool: 'Clearing' it...

I have a Pen Tool idiosyncrasy (or maybe it's me & lack of knowledge) that I'd like to ask about. (I search & read post about pen tool & didn't see this)

Say I am drawing a line, with pen tool, as represented by clicking 1 & 2 to make nodes to create the line, now I want to make a second line as represented by clicking a 3rd & 4th time to make two more nodes to create the second line... Now, if I do this this the Pen Tool thinks I am still making the first line and connects nodes 2 & 3 <sigh>

But, if I switch out of the Pen Tool to, say, one of the select tools, and come back to the Pen Tool I can to the second line with out it being part of line 1.

Is there a way to 'Clear' the Pen Tool without selecting another tool?
(and 'no' I do not want to copy, duplicate, or clone the first line to get 2nd)

    Thanks - Curious, Tom

Thanks for that. I have been using Xara since it was called Xara Studio and I am ashamed to say I never knew that. All those wasted seconds... where's my Prozac?

Your my friend for life Mickie, every time I used the pen tool I used to swear under my breath. It's as they say "It's easy when you know how."

I'm glad to have been able to help. Sometimes it's the simple things that make your day.
