Playing around with the lathe nurbs and some glass textures. The 'clear' bottle has a BhodiNUT shader. The 'green' and 'rose' tinted bottles use materials created with the material manager. B-Splines were used to make the shape of the bottles.

Bill, when I saw your bottle I got inspired.
I modeled with C4D. I haven't used my new version of Bryce very much, so I exported and used Bryce glass mat. -n- rendered. Bryce5 renders real nice, its capable of fine art but its so very slow. This is approximately a 30min render at the resolution attached, IMHO Its worth the wait.

    Hi Mike,

Bryce does a very good job with that glass mat. Great model too. Thanks for the info. I'll look into Bryce.

Bill - Good job. You might want to use Fresnel and turn up your specular to 150, and make it narrow. Some reflection also would help.

Mike - Byrce has some great glass mats. Nice Render.

Here is a glass vase, rendered in C4D CE. Which I think is not bad for CE.

    Hi Randy,

Not bad for C4D of any version. Thanks for the tips for settings. I had fresnel up fairly high, but didn't adjust the specular or reflection. I'll keep that in mind for future use.

Another try at doing a material for glass in C4D. Took Randy's advice and adjusted the specular and reflection. I used Xara to create the spline for the lathe nurbs.

All these lathed glass items are very nice! Soquili, you mentioned you used Xara for making the spline, how did you get it from Xara to C4D? I was trying to do that very thing earlier but could not figure out how to do it. How do you export the spline?

    Thanks,
    -T

Nice reflection map Bill, is it a palm tree?

Export the Xara line as an Adobe Illustrator (ai,eps) file.
Using the C4D objects manager, File, load object (Your Xara eps file).

Here's a glass mug I modeled in Wings3d, render is with C4D CE... still needs some work...I will put the time it would take to tweak this into another glass project instead... hope ya like it anyways...
