How do you draw the shaped lines using PI 11 ( eg Cats hair)

The cat outline is drawn freehand then scanned into the computer. I then use the magic wand and select the outline, then darken it with the paint tool. For other outlines I scan in a drawing, then use a path outline drawing tool to make a shape. You can then edit the shape by adding or deleting points, and use the toggles to bend the lines to fit over the lines on the drawings. You can also change the thickness of the lines. When your happy with the shape you then convert the path to an image. I hope that makes sense!

Me confused? ... Naaa!
Do you mean that you convert a scanned image to a Path Object and then use Path Edit to do your shape?
Why I asked about the shaped lines was because of the great amount of work involved especially if there are many lines to work with.
An example can be seen in GM's Cartoon car on this forum.
The stroke lines are the main reason that I bought Xara extreme a few months ago.
Much of my work is done using a combination of the two programs.

Yes, as Kiwi said, you can do a lot when combining the best of each program. PI's vector tools are still being developed in comparison to a full-blown vector program like Xara. Other vector programs that work with PI are CorelDRAW and Adobe Illustrator. The way I got the vector file into PI was as an .ai drawing in the custom shapes. All of the vector programs mentioned can export .ai (Adobe Illustrator). But PI can only recognize pure vector data, so don't include drop shadows or gradients.

I don't know how far back it was, but our Kiwi did some excellent drawings of an Astrolabe, I think it was, also a brass hanging hurricane lamp. PI is excellent at rendering. In fact I find some of its tools the best I've tried.
