Default Any tips for making cogs?

I am having a bit of trouble with these cogs...

I am certain they are perfectly circular, but I am getting an annoying little wobble, as if they are ovals.

(Sorry for the gigantic file size.)

quick attempt... kept it 16 colors, just to try it and it does appear to wobble a little.... created the outlines in Xtreme and pasted them into 3D. Don't know why it does that.

Could the wobbles be an optical illusion? I'm seeing it in both animations.

Yeah, I still can't get it right.

I have included the files I am using for this second cog.

Obviously you have started with defective metal materials. Take it back to where you bought it.....

    (The lighting is stupendous!!!!!!)

I did two in another program to see if I could get the same effect. Sorry for the visually small size, forgot to zoom in.

The first one seems to wobble to me, because I added luminosity (light) and shadows.

The second one unpainted seems okay. But let's check after posting to web.

Try this if you want. I have a free utility called Meazure. It can put an on screen grid in about any measurement you want, pixels etc and also has a good zoom.

Anyway, I put Meazure up and the Cog is wobbling! It goes above and below grid marks on the screen. Something is out of round and it may be tthe way tilt is applied that makes the shape oval rather than round. Not sure though.

Check it out, Meazure is a nice tool and you can see what I mean.
