In the Ice Cube Challeng, Gary and others have been discussing the difficulties associated with drawing glass. True, it is not easy. However, sometmes the best technique is to NOT draw the glass but to "fool the eye" of the viewer.
In the image below, I drew the rim and walls of the glass, along with the light reflections, but the bowl of the glass is empty space.
