My little contribution for the ice cube thread.
Harder than I imagined when I first started to doodle.

One black square, one white square; duplicate and nudge to position, select all duplicate again, nudge down etc. until you have enough, group together apply perspective mould; preparation and cooking time 10 mins?

Ice is very difficult. If you can find an advertisement with photo of a glass of whiskey and ice cubes you will see some great reflections and highlights. Of course what you see in the photo in all likelihood are glass or plastic ice cubes and not real ice. Photographing a drink with real ice cubes is not practical because the ice has to be just right, not too sharp and not too melted. Years ago when I worked on the Suntory Whisky account we did photography using real ice cubes and it was a nightmare.

Because of the nature of clear ice, you get a lot of dark reflections as well as a lot of very light highlights and everything in between.

Here is my attempt but it really needs a lot of work still. It is only the bare bones of a beginning.

I am also attaching some photos I found doing a Google search for ice cubes and whisky on ice.

Thought I would give this a try.

What a fun project. This should be a monthly deal.
