Import from Visio?

Is it possible to import a file from Visio? I know the standard VSD file will not load (I have tried it!)... Is there an intermediate file format that Visio can save to that Xtreme will open?

What I am trying to do is create a GIF or PNG file of a drawing in Visio. Although this is simple to do from Visio (by choosing File/Save As...), there are no options on the resultant image dimensions etc. I was hoping to be able to import something into Xtreme to resize it, without losing any quality... i.e. I want to import something that's a vector drawing, and not a bitmap image.

I tried WMF as the intermediate stage, but Xtreme said "an error was detected in the metafile".

Any ideas?

I have an elderly copy of Visio (2000) and tried Save As/Adobe Illustrator (.ai).

I imported into Xara. It protested a little and I had to select and drag all the text into the right place, but the end result was ok - everything is a vector.

Visio 2003 does not have AI as an option in Save As.

Another gotcha!

I see that Visio can export svg; there is a project for Xtreme to support svg - perhaps you need to wait a bit.

In the meantine could you not export as tif and work with that?

Good call... the export as TIF allows me to choose the output image size in pixels!
