Creating a line image.

Hi folks,

I currently have a photo that I want to turn into a simple b&w line image.

Can someone give me siome tips on how to do this please, many thanks.

Welcome to Talkgraphics.

I'm not sure what your definition of line image may be.

The two attachments show a couple of ways to convert a photo into a black and white line drawing style of image.

No sorry, I need a much more simplified image, almost like a piece of b&w clipart.

You can use the examples shown then take them one step further by using threshold, that will knock out the mid tones. If you find that the lines are too fine you can increase the size with the minimum filter by a pixel a time.

the second was done with photoshop - make a duplicate layer and set layer blending mode to hard mix
