    Default transparent backgrounds

I can't find the post now but someone was asking how to make white backgrounds transparent, the results were a bit fiddly, but I have managed to find a couple of plug in filters (Free) that do the job - Eliminate Black and Eliminate White - downloadable from (if an URL is allowed)

    hope this helps

Xara has Stainedglass and Bleach transparencies. Those filters worked in Extreme, but I needed to add plugin.dll to get the eliminate white filter to work. Rich

Just in case you were not already aware of this, for bitmaps in Xara X1 or Xtreme, a simple stained glass transparency instantly eliminates a white background.

Yep, that's the tutorial I did read and it does work up to a point (for me)
If I use that method over a black background then I lose the image altogether, whereas using "eliminate white" I retain the image.
I guess there is no perfect easy answer unless using PSP or Realdraw to get
    rid of unwanted backgrounds.

    Gary,

I was looking for the show printer colors in Xtreme to use a color to make a transparent bitmap. I didn't see the option. Its this a change.

My perference is drawing an object and extracting the image. Rich
