Default 85 LPI - some advice please

I have a illustration done in Xara and it will be used for newsprint. This is new for me.

The image will print out 6.34" x 4.52" and if possible need to export it at 85 LPI. Or will be printed at 85 LPI.

How would I go about doing that? Since exporting from Xara is in DPI. What resolution would be best?

It was that or highest resolution possible. But how high is too high?

Just double target LPI and you'll get sufficient resolution of source image in DPI.
So, if your work will be printed at 85 LPI, then 170 DPI resolution for source image will be good enough.
Any higher resolution of source image is mostly redundant, so I would say that >170 DPI is "too high" in your case.

Urghh, I just wonder what's printed at so low resolution (85 LPI) ?

    Thanks for your input, John

It's newsprint. It's a ad for bungalows, for resale homes. One of those free magazines you can pick up.
