I suggest you wait until the official launch and announcements before making such judgements.
I was not disappointed.Originally Posted by LogoVend
That was a good discussion, wasn't it? Now, does anyone here like jam? I do!
I dont agree and think i'm not the only one who thinks that, i'm using Xtreme more then I did XaraX1, okay it still needs some tweaks here and there.Originally Posted by LogoVend

How is Xara Xtreme a complete dissapointment?
please explain?
I have found no problems here, and I run a large format sign company
Xara Extreme with plug in capability, has outperformed my other
software 10 to 1,
maybe your computer is too slow,
I'm using a homebuilt athlon 64 1 meg cache,with 1 gb 3200 ddr, geforce 5200
w/128 meg ram.
very fast,
in fact Xara performs incredibly fast,
although, i built my system around Win 2000 pro sp3
and it's solid as a rock,
your xp mileage may vary.
In general, I'd agree. Full of gimics and few real tools. I do like the group transparency and the pdf export however. The live effects stuff I could do without and I've already crashed it a couple times playing with some 999 blends. (perhaps someone could tell me if they have included an auto backup function in this build or not)
However, since Charles seems to indicate there are more suprizes in store I'll reserve final judgement. I do think it is more than worth the upgrade price and I will purchase it if for no other reason than to support Xara. I would like to see them get back a serious illustration application and less of a silly webster gadget box. I need real text controls, better kerning and leading controls. I need multi-page support, maybe some b-spline support or a better replication system (such as copy w/ offset) and the like. I don't need photoshop plugins... hell, I don't use those in photoshop why would I want em in a vector program.
Anywho, like I said, I'll reserve judgement till release and I will buy it because it's such a bargin compared to most upgrades.

Good old LogoVend!
He didn't say Xtreme is a disappointment - he just set a question. Maybe this is not the right time, but it was just a question.
I thought a question ended with a questionmark??????Originally Posted by stlewis
