Different line caps

Is it possible to select different line caps on the same line in Xara X1 ?

I've been able to import Acorn Draw files with different line caps and they appear correctly, so Xara is capable of displaying such lines. However, I haven't found a way of creating such lines in Xara itself. Am I missing something or is it not possible at present?

It's a very handy feature at times (e.g. creating a slatted fence where the slats have a square base and a rounded top). There are work rounds of course, but these take longer to do and involve two elements.

Would it be possible to add a startcap/endcap option to the line gallery in Xara X2? ...please.

Aren't Acorn Draw line caps just the usual, round, butt, square options? I can't recall. If so these are controllable from the Line Gallery. There's a drop down menu at the top of the gallert that gives you the choice.

Using the Line Gallery the cap style is applied to both ends of the line. Is there a way to apply a different cap style to each end of a line?

I remember one version of xara that had that ability, don't ask me which tho, but it is not in X1...

Yes, the Acorn Draw format allows square, butt and round line endings, but it is also possible to have say square and round caps at opposite ends of the SAME line. When Draw files are imported into Xara X1 these different endings are retained.

In the Xara X1 line gallery it does NOT seem possible to set different caps at opposite ends of the same line. That feature would be handy.

There is a way to have different or the same arrowheads on both sides of a line.

If you hold down the Ctrl key and double click on an arrowhead or tail, it will be applied to the end of the line.
