Rich,
That is one handsome spider!
Gorgeous, in fact.
Want to tell us something more about how you created this lovely Halloweeny guy?
I like him! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Jinny,
Nothing special. I thought I would try and learn Painter, and have been trying things. I painted a clone, and then merged it with the base image using the blending modes.
The dragonfly was just another expirment. I like the feeling I get by painting the images.

The original image of the spider. Rich
The painting of the spider. I used rotate to turn the image for painting the legs, and the bracket keys for changing brush size. Rich
Thanks, Rich.
It's a great photo to begin with and I think you've added a lot to it with your painting.
The Rotate Page tool is great, isn't it? Makes it much easier to paint at odd angles.
In case you didn't already know, you can hit the "E" key to activate the Rotate Page tool, then click the "B" key to go back to painting.
Another way to resize the brush:
Painter 6 and Painter IX - Hold down the Ctrl/Command+Alt keys and drag in to decrease or out to increase brush size.
Painter 7 and Painter 8 - Hold down the Ctrl/Command+Shift+Alt keys and drag in to decrease or out to increase brush size.
