I am new to PSP and just need help with the basics. I have version 8 and all the tuts I have found so far are 7 or less. Is there a place on the net that has 8 tuts? I need to learn the text tool settings first and then working with layers.

I have been working with ulead photoimpact 8, but like many of the features of PSP. Your help is appreciated.

How about this? The bottle lid on the left is done in PSP 8 with lace tube accents inverted to a negative image superimposed over your original bottle lid. I applied Flaming Pear's Lacquer Filter which shipped as a bonus with the Anniversary Edition of PSP 7. Adobe Lens Flare effects were added. The one on the right, (I cheated, I used Ulead's PhotoImpact 8). Both are nice. I'm not sure what you are after.

Hi Sallybode....thanks for replying...it has been so long since I have worked on that graphic I had forgotten all about it! I guess the look I want is just shiny metallic gold without the beveled look. The bevel tool has been used so much in graphics and I was kinda wanting to get away from that look...but I don't know if I can achieve the look I want.

Sorry it wasn't exactly what you had in mind but you'll probably start playing around with it again which is where the fun lies. I love what other people do but even when I do tutorials, I change what they have done to express my ideas, but it is great to learn their techniques, isn't it?

Yes you are certainly right about tutorials..they were a lifesaver when I first started with PSP! Tutorial writers have a talent that I very much envy http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gifThat's looking pretty good John, especially if you're new to the program, or did you mean new to the group http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/confused.gif
Did you do that with shading and highlights?

Hello Carolyn thx 4 the compliment and i'm both, new 2 the program and the group, but i made a little mistake http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/frown.gif i made the drawing with XaraX (i'm new 2 that program 2)and i was showing my aunt (who works with PSP) how XaraX works in solving some problems she had.
I posted the drawing here thinking it was the Xara site.I use PSP 2 but mostly I use Animation shop & Xara. Here is the first i made with the 2 together.

http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Not a problem at all posting that here. I love to see the work other people are doing and my time is very limited so I don't get to the other groups here at TG very often. I like your animation very much!
