Hi, Pakmn! The easiest way to do that would be to put the item in question on a seperate layer. Once you have it positioned where you want it, go back to the Layer Manager..., click on the layer with that particular object and move the slider ( in the Layer Manager) to the left. That is the transparency control...and the more you move it to the left...the more transparent it becomes.

as many time as ive played with this program,(i really mean played),iv never seen that slider bar in the layer palet, thank you, boy im missin a lot here. that was what i needed
