I had the worst time today trying to evenly space small circles around the outside of a large circle. Using the align dialog box doesn't work when you are trying to align objects to a path.

Also irritating, is the snap to objects is less than precise.

Does any one know an easy way to accomplish this?

I ended up making a brush out of a small circle and applying it to the larger circle but getting it the right point size to get 48 small circles, instead of 40 or 46 still took me forever and the brush circles were smaller than I really wanted.

Have you tried a blend of two objects on a circular path?

The blend to path would work okay if all the objects were the same color, or if you wanted the rainbow effect like you showed.

What I was working with were several different fills and I don't think the blend would work in this case.

See attached and hopefully it will show what I mean.

    Judi,

Gary's answer is ok you can convert the blend to shapes and then change individual fills.

48 Times!!! Oh well, what I was doing was is something I wouldn't normally do anyhow.

Here are two basic ideas how you could do such task. Even for 48 objects it will not take more then half an hour.

    Hi,

You might want to try using the object naming feature to make the selection of objects which you want to be of a similar hue easier. Also, you could do a few blends of a gradient filled objects which use a specific palette of colors. Then covert the blends to editable shapes and ungroup them. Finally, select an object with the desired color effect, Ctrl+C, and then Ctrt+Shift+A these attributes to an object(s) in your radial array.

I Repeat: If XaraX had had a basic "Repeat last action" function - to repeat the moving of an object - this would have been a breeze!

But I've only clamored for such a Repeat function for four-five years, so . . .
