Saving Custom Brushes etc. How?

XaraX 1.0a doesn't seem to be able to save custom brushes beyond the current session. Lot's of work for nought?

What design Preferences (i.e. default font, contour steps etc.) are there in XaraX 1.0a

A few weeks ago there was a thread that included a discussion on this issue and a strategy for saving the brushes. You can probably find the thread using the forum's search tool.

Check out the help files under brushes. It has a good section on this. What it involves is making however many brushes you want in a new drawing, drawing a single line with each brush in this same drawing, then saving that XAR file in the templates/brushes folder. They are then available for future work. Open up novelty.xar in the templates/brushes folder and see what they did for the default brushes.

I opened the novelty.xar file as you suggested and added a couple of brushes there and it seems to have worked! Thanks (I was getting frustrated redesigning the ame old brush...)
