I developed the attached pic completely with XARA X. No bitmap application had been involved. OK, lots of layers, transparencies, one sliced bitmap (a duplicate of the surfer) and only one single bitmap copy for the cutout text effect.

Surfer, pebbles, desk texture are bitmaps, the rest is vector.

Completed in just a few hours, compared to the version I have done 2 years ago for an ISP in Denmark with a bitmap application - I needed a week and got less effects.

Are you shure you are still in need for PhotoSoap?

    Have fun!

We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.

    Nice soft effects there jens.
I too like to go to town with the trans tool and blends. The effects achieved go on for as long as you want to experiment. Xara is unique in this, coreldraw comes close but it crashes before the denouement....

Recently I was told by a bigmac colleague "..but why not do that stuff in Photoshop.. it now does vector drawing, and you should be using an industry standard!"
Yeah. right. I tried pshop6 yesterday. A little dorky line that then has to be turned into those ant trails before you can fill it.. vectors? gimme a break. Nice for photoediting though, but 5 does that, with history..

comments like that make me see in black and white, and go dotty... Q.
