If you make a box and add a few lines, then group these, follow up by trying to change the line shape and xarax goes off into never never land.

Works just fine for me.
Are you using the CD version of Xara?
If I understood your instructions correcly:
(1) Draw square
(2) Draw lines
(3) Group them all
---> Change brush stroke/shape/
I have manipulated these in all kinds of ways and can not get Xara to crash.
Did I understand you instructions correctly?

My original attempt was using a novelty line stroke and now I find that some natural lines exhibit the same problem but not all. Conventional line changes work OK.
Paul
Tried "novelty" and the "standard" strokes/shapes and I just can't get it to crash.
Post your .xar file and describe what you are trying to do... perhaps I didn't understand your instructions correctly?
Are you using the CD version 1.0b?
Risto
OK, I tried it again and just left the machine. I run on Windows NT (dual 433 processors) so I put on the performance monitor. Eventually it came back to me. So I guess it does do it but is sometimes very slow - the point size was small
False alarm!
Thanks for yor help.

Something must be goofed up with your system because it shouldn't take that long to perform the line change function in Xara.
Bill Gates is probably the culprit...
