Been meaning to post some brushes for a while - I'm a bit like a bus (no I don't look like one, I hope!!) - wait for ages and then three come at the same time.

Might have a go at some "natural media" type brushes for the next batch.

Hi,
Can someone help me please. I downloaded the funbrushes from the link above by clicking on "Open" which naturally launched Xara and loaded the file. After admiring them I decided I would like to save them so I clicked on "Save As" and was taken to a folder named W913CX13 which to my surprise already had the file in it!

Was the file put there automatically and where on my hard drive is that folder and why has it such an unusual name?

How do I use the brushes and if I would like to design some how do I go about it? Is there a tutorial somewhere?

Because you chose to open the file, rather than save it, it gets stored in a temporary folder on your hard drive. You can still save the file but choose somewhere you will remember. Below is a screenshot of where my temp files get stored on my hard drive. When I get the download option box, I always choose "save" and then I can select where to put it.

To use the brushes immediately, when you open the brush file, the brushes will show in the line gallery in the new strokes folder.

To use the brushes in the future and have them available whenever you open Xara, save the brush file in the Template folder in the Xara folder under Program Files (I can't remember if there's a brush folder already in the Template folder; if not, create one and save your brush files in there). Then when you open Xara, the brushes will show in the Line Gallery.
