I am very interested in learning this technique.
Does anyone know how this is possible in the 3d program?

Hi There Ron,

I think you will find this is created in Xara-X.

Xara 3D is simply not designed for this type of work.

This was done in Xara3D.

I believe the shapes were done in Xara then imported into 3D and textured.

There should be a tutorial on doing this sort of thing in the XaraZone.
