    Hello,
    im new to this and whilst i can create and manipulate within xara3d im a bit at a loss as to how to go about taking a jpeg picture into xarax and then into x3d...Is there a tutorial i can see where someone has done this
    I have watched the tutorial films but didnt seem to assimulate the solution

    Essentially, X3D cannot magically turn, say, a photo of a person into a 3D head. You can either (1) create a ball shape and texture it with the jpg, or (2) you need to trace areas of the photo to create shapes, and then with a lot of care, assemble these in X3D - look for the posts of Mike Sims, in particular.

    Hope that gets you on the right lines...

    Hello Simon,
    many thanks i have read the thread and will now try implement the data.
    the pic is a simple pic of an industrial robot consisting of base, vertical pillar,and operating arm and overall just in 2 colours,so i believe i can make a fairly good effort at vectoring the individual components ....reassembling them in x3d may be another matter !!
