Using image hose to make a tiled pattern made up of random arrangement.

I built an image hose made up of leaves.

The image hose layout can be mapped to a source document’s luminance. This is done in the expression pallete.

You can see where the leaves have been mapped to a gradient.

In the image in the next post I have used the repeating pattern as the source but the leaves are being sprayed out with random size and angle. So the integrity of the pattern remains but no two parts of it are the same.
