    I like the basic design.

I might try loosing some of the detail inside the hand, including the cuff and buttons.

I think it will be less distracting (put more emphasis on the heavenly rays) and make the hand more generic (not necessarily male).

I agree with John. I also think perhaps the proportion between the name and the graphic might be looked at. IMHO the name is somewhat weak. Perhaps a larger size or all caps or maybe a different font.

A few modifications and an addition. The font isn't particularly suited to this, but I thought it should be a little more bold. The size of the hand has been reduced and a church added behind. I think this adds an invitation to come in.

    Just a few suggestions.

Let us know what you come up with for the final version.

It might make an interesting (and appropriate) challenge to the forum members for a STAINED-GLASS version.

    Crusader,

I like the general design, I agree that a font
is definately needed. I would also like to reccommend placing a dove or cross in the vacant
area above the reaching hand. I believe you could stand to loose the button on the sleeve and some of the detail. Perhaps not as much as in the other sample given, but that is up to you. Great effort, keep up the good work.

Thanks for the great advise everyone http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

I cannot put a church building in the logo because the idea behind our site is not to look or feel churchy. So they decided no churches or a cross.

The dove idea is a good thought though. I may play around with that tomorrow when my brian is not so fried.

Here is the site (still under construction): McMinnville Nazarene Web Site - the whole site was built in Xara X.

Here is the logo I ended up with (although the design is not set in stone)

Here is the xara x file in case you guys want play around with stained glass ideas, which I would love to see of course http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Should the wording not say 'others' plural rather than singular. Sorry to be picky but it looks wrong.
