What would your purpose for that be Chip?

It cannot be done, but i'm thinking that whatever it is your trying to do should actually be done another way. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Thanks for your reply. I was just curious if it would be possible to apply a stroke to an image/text but leave the image/text itself transparent. I am use to using Fireworks and there was a swatch for transparent and I was just wondering if PS had one.

Oh well ya, actually that's REALLY easy! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

When creating your type, create a New Layer for it.
Right-click on the TYPE tool in the Toolbar, and from the options menu choose the outlined 'T' that says "Horizontal Type Mask Tool".
(this will create only a 'selection' of your type, and won't fill the letters in)

Click the tool on your canvas, and type your text.

Press the D key to reset your fore/background swatches. Then under the EDIT menu, choose Stroke.... Set it to your desired line thickness (in pixels) and use the "Center" option. Leave the other options at their defaults.

Click OK, then press Ctrl+D to Deselect, and you're done! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
