Hey, Jens--

I finally did a scene with NO retouching. To prove it, I left part of trueSpace's interface in the screen dump.

What do you think? BTW, the palm trees were hand modeled.

Nice Gary! Though, I must admit, I'm surprised you were able to resist touching it up externally.

(not to suggest that it needs touching up, just that we know how much you love to touch things up )

    I like it!

    Jens,

What bug did you find in C4D? I have V7.1 also and still find my self going back to Rhino to model some things.

I like the weird photographic angle, Jens--

And the flamingo on the plant potter was a nice touch!

    here is another one:

    http://jens.highspeedweb.net/samples/coatstand.jpg

No retouching, right off the raytracer.

It's a product I had designed some time ago - a modular coastand system.

    Element 1: with hangers
Element 2: with drawer and picture frame
    Element 3: with mirror

The elements can be combined in any lenght and order... no drilling of holes in the walls required. You simply connect the parts, erect them and lean them against a wall, that's it. Based on the gravity and the center of gravity the don't move (unless you will try some pull ups...)

    The Yucca palm is handmade ;-}

    Large hallways galore!

    Okay, okay--

There's a limit to the universe of things you can do without retouching after rendering.

But this one here doesn't need retouching.

    Is that the point?

BTW, this was done entirely on a Macintosh using PIXAR software.

    Jens--

The telephone I modeled is from like 1960 or so, and yes, American telephones looked blocky and un-sleek.

Of course, today, a telephone can look like anything!

Yikes! I'm writing this message on a [b]telephone!!!

Gary, that's a cool one. And I don't miss retouching at all. It's perfect just as it is.

Palm tree modeler: Plant Studio should do it, but I'm not sure because I haven't installed it on this machine I'm currently working with.

Check it out & have a nice weekend!

    Gents...

I have been to Florida numerous times and to Nassau once, and I've taken plenty of pictures of palm trees.

I've yet to see *any* terrain modeler that does "faithful" palm trees, coconut or any of the other variety.

Thanks for the vote of confidence!
