Just a compilation of doodles I put together in PI for my desktop... as a reminder of the road along the way... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

There are a few vector objects done in PI, as well a few paint doodles also done in PI, which I will mention here, that learning to move those paints around is very important when considering doing such for UV mapping re-coloring/texturing 3D objects... and PI is much friendlier to me than any other for this task... to which the practice gained in PI thus far should go along ways towards getting this task underhand...http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

The common denominator to all is always PI http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Well, funny thing there Dave... haha, when I first made Rowdy it was originaly done with vector shapes within PI... anyhoo, as I started to manipulate the shapes for different poses I just knew that doing things in 3D made more sense... sooo, I did the original Rowdy bird model in a package called Simply3D... I gotta tell you, looking back it was amazing that I ever put any shape to the durn thing as I had... because I knew squat about real modeling... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

It was during our explorations up in the 3D forum when I started to gain a more general understanding of just what was possible and how... but even then there were so many holes that it was pretty rough going...

and then I re-found Wings... wow, talking about your friendly and decievingly powerful little modeler... but I still didn't know jack... so I hunted down some tuts and the manual for this little app... ahhhh...soooo http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif ( they didn't have any tuts for Rowdy http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif )

...anyways, just carried on with my usual approach... which is really no secret there Dave... and that is to doodle... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

as for "Rowdy"... well, it was nice in theroy, but... then I found modeling... and ventured forth... would I go back? naw... too much really good stuff still to learn... like modeling photo realistic stuff, maybe a real car, a building or two... perhaps a whole scene someday...

but Rowdy? hmmm, do you ask because you think he's cute? if so, perhaps we will consider it further... one never knows ya know...

How's things with you Dave... had enough snow yet?
yikes, we watched it on the news all winter long... are ya all dug out yet?

I thought Rowdy was a neat bird and always pictured Rowdy as being involved in countless little cartoon adventures all modelled and animated in 3d ... so ya better get cracking there http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif ... Rowdy fans can get ...well, um , rowdy ,,, so ya better not disappoint them ...hehe

Oh yeah , I forgot you are in the snowless land. Well seeing as though I actually like snow, I haven't minded much. However, it is April and at present the snow is gone and yesterday was fairly mild. I think I have had enough snow for now http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
