Just playing around with a car created using a new Lightwave plugin which creates wrinkles. I will explain the technique in the following message.

    Kindly,

The first object was a very low polygon one created in Lightwave. The substract function was used for the wheel room.

Afterwards, this simple object was exported as an .obj file and re-imported into ZBrush. There an unified skin was applied to it at low resolution and with the smoothing setting on zero.

The resulting object was re-imported in Lightwave again as an .obj file and the wrinkles were applied there along the lines between some chosen polygon groups. These wrinkles may be applied in subpatch mode, which gives a very smooth result.

Around the glasses I have applied two concentric wrinkles to simulate the gum joint and after that I have applied an inner smooth scale to the glasses themselves.

    kindly,
    ivan

    Ivan---

If you'd like to send some of the cars to me, with alphas, I can easily make a Painter nozzle out of them, for you and/or anyone else.

    Nice work.
    Nicer ART!

....to create a Xara X brush with it.

If you can wait some more time I will finish it with the wheels and other lacking elements !

The above image was made in Xara X. Each car was an individual rendering exported in .png with alpha from Lightwave. Thus That will be easy to send you what you need.

    Friendly,
    ivan

Here is an example of how the Wrinkle plugin works. You have only to select continue rows of points and then you drag your mouse through the window or you type the width and depth values you want in the numeric panel. It works inwards or outwards.

(In the second image subpatches are activated).

Below another example of a car hybrid Lightwave/ZBrush.

    Enjoy,
    ivan

    Ivan,

So this new plug-in is sort of like a bevel tool, like that which one would use in XARa to add a bevel to text, no?

    Great design, man.

    1. Create a shape and apply a rounded bevel with Light elevation 30°, Light angle 300°.

    2. Draw a line on top of the shape and apply a chiseled bevel with Light elevation 30° but Light angle 120° !!!

    Nice work, Ivan.

I would encourage folks not to let a 3D application run their creative life. There are plenty of 2D apps, XARA is one of them, within which you can turn out fairly realistic subjects.
