Its all been said above, but I feel it is important to let you know of my sympathies.

Something we all have to go through in one way or another ... so we are all brothers and sisters in a sense.

Take care and glad to see that Xara was able to help you express your feelings so well.

    Best Regards, John

I lost my mother last year and though my grieving is done, the hole in my life is vast.

I was so glad that I spent a lot of time with her before she suddenly got sick, because I was not able to talk to her in her last few weeks. She was on a respirator and unconscious the last days of her life. What I would have given to be able to talk to her just one more time!

That's what I miss, just talking to her.

Tell each other honestly the things you always wanted to say to each other but never did. Harbor no resentments. Leave the negatives behind and enjoy the positive things about each other.

I wish you and your brother well.

Life can be so sad at times, but I would not trade holding my mother's hand while she died for anything. It was so heartbreaking, but I wanted to share it with her and I gladly paid the price.

Why, I’m afraid I can’t explain myself, sir, because I’m not myself, you know...

Soquili, I'm frustrated by my inability to add anything profoundly new to all the condolences that have already been expressed. I lost my father almost exactly two years ago to cancer, so I can imagine how you must be feeling. Just know that your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Like the others, I can only let you know that I'm thinking of your brother and you and can empathise with you through personal experience. My Uncle Charlie (my father's identical twin) died of cancer at 51 nearly 19 years ago, but the feelings of frustration and unfairness at not being able to stop it while he was still alive have never left me.

    Thinking of you both!

    Dear Friends,

My brother passed away this morning.

We were fortunate to have him for this extra time.
