Noob - Achieve the coin affect

the way to explained what you did to make the coin with the moveing engine on one side sounds extremly difficult. you must have hella patience
just creating each frame alone sounds like a task.

I'm still working on the tutorial (should be able to post it in a day or two), but it isn't anything like as hard to do is it sounds. It's essentially a combination of methods you might use anyway. But patience is sometimes involved.

By the way, I'm not planning to explain how to make that particular animation in detail, just to use it as an example to explain the thinking behind the techniques. Also, I'll post it in a fresh thread rather than in this one.

i now wish to take my football logo another step further by having the dragon and text protruding from the main face.

Im 99% sure ive seen this effect in one of the threads but i cannot find it again.

does anyone know where that thread is or if there is a tut to assist me with this please?
