    Is it possible to try Painter using a trial? In case, from where can I download it?
    Thanks,

    Mary,

    No, there's not a demo, or trial version, of Painter.

    When Metacreations owned Painter, they had a Painter 5 demo available for download but the current owner, Corel Corporation, doesn't offer one.

    You might be able to find an older version on E-Bay at a reduced price, but be sure you get the full software and it's not a hacked (pirated) version so you can register a legal copy and also be sure to get the complete Painter. In addition, if you buy Painter 4, 5, 5.5, or 6 you'll be eligible for upgrade pricing to buy Painter 7.

    Good luck. I hope you can find it because Painter is a marvelous program.

    I had a demo of Painter 5 many months ago but I lost it when my computer had a problem. When I tried to get the setup file I had , the file was no longer at that URL. I searched online for a Painter 5 demo (or any version) and found none.

    Well tonight I found a demo of Painter 5 again!! Go to this URL below;

    It has no time limit but you can't save anything. Anyway , it's really so much more powerful than Painter classic which came with my tablet and pen and should give you an idea of what the latest Painter 7 probably has. There's a paint can at the local Futureshop of Painter 5.5 (why did Corel drop that gimmicky yet cool feature in version 7!?)...it's been there quite some time and I think it's only a few hundred dollars Canadian. Perhaps I might pick that up as I can't afford Painter 7 and this would get me into the upgrade loop for maybe Painter 8.

    Linda,

    Corel doesn't offer upgrade pricing from Painter Classic. Take a look on the Wacom site. I understand they're still offering Painter 7 at $174.95 (or close) for owners of Wacom tablets that came with Painter Classic. That's the best deal around and better than what Corel offered.

    I just purchased Painter 5 on Ebay for $20.00 plus $4.00 shipping. Go to the desktop publishing area. The seller had other CD's of Painter also. I plan to use this sealed Cd to upgrade to Painter 7 at I hope 1/2 the cost. I'm a software junkie I just have to have different paint programs to use.
