Word out and about is that the Sept. issue of the U.K. magazine PC Format had a FULL version Painter 5.5 for Windows on it's CD. Know anyone in England? Are there still some copy's out there?

Seems the folks at DigArts Software grabbed a few copies of this issue, as they are offering a complimentary copy of Painter 5.5 (and PC Format Mag) free with a purchase of their Jungle 3D CD ($80.00). Check it out at gardenhose.com. This site also has some freebie downloads that may be of interest.

For people in the UK? Man, they're getting all the breaks over there. First they get to see previews of Xara X and now this. . .

Oh well, it looks as though the garden hose people will take care of those of us on this side of the pond. . .

Great to see PC Format still has some back copies of the Sept. issue, with Painter 5.5, available.

Also looks like DigArts Software still has some copies too, as they still have their promotion going on as I mentioned above. Not so complimentary as I thought, as it's $10.00 more then the Jungle 2D or 3D CD's alone, but still a good deal if PC Format runs out. OR you can opt for the free copy of Bryce 3D (from 3D World magazine) if you already have Painter

These are great CD's for those hard to do, time consuming, and 3D polygon bloating, trees & plants. And, IMHO, Bryce is the best consumer level landscape generator available. (latest version is Bryce 4, and 3D World mag does have an upgrade path at their site: http://www.3dworldmag.com/magazine/c...tion.frame.htm)

Once again, URL for DigArts/gardenhose is above.
