I like it. The shading looks so much like a wash... your technique is unique and interesting.

I love it Tao!
Your search to paint effects and others specifics to Xara X is fantastic.

You definentally have found the skill of ink in Xara! Garunteed anyone you'd show that to would say ink. Great piece, that would be a nice addition to some wall in my house!

Did you dip your mouse in water? :-)

You're getting pretty facile at that technique.

Hi Gary, in the two examples the first is the bitmap copy. I made all those dark marks with the brush tool and feathering.I got rid of the vector image and then started to draw over the bitmap copy adding a few transparencies here and there to add the shade. Then I made a contrast transparence over the middle bit. That made the lines look broken a bit which I liked. It also made some of the lines darker and so on. It seems to work and I think I could get it better. So much to do in this program. I have got lazy and never venture out of xara. I really like your image in the gallery..........Roger

... ink and brush sketches, especially the ones that look like they were executed in a quick and carefree manner. Your XARA ink looks very convincing and I think it is something worth exploring for sure.

Great stuff, yet again, Tao!

Roger

It's fun to play with the different transparency types and see what they do.

I found a cool use for Contrast Transparency which will be in next months tutorial.
