I thought this was worth a mention. This has to be the best email checker there is and it is free. Cuts out viruses and spam and soooo easy to use check it out http://www.mailwasher.net/ Tao jones

But as SPAM affects us all (I received 20 messages just now when I checked in, 16 were SPAM!).

I have been using POP 3 ScanMailbox but this is worth a try. I like the bounce back filter that returns the SPAM as undeliverable fooling the sender into thinking the current e-mail address is no longer in use.

Perhaps this is the answer to the senseless onsluaght of Korean SPAM I have been receiving?

    Thanks for the tip, Roger.

    Tao,

thanks a lot for the info - this kind of software is always welcome, even if it will carry a moderate price tag!

I recommend it for all of you without access to perl scripts or your own mailserver!

My worst experience with spam happened a couple months ago when I received about 650 emails from this single source on one day (something about mortgages or something). It was my hotmail account which I barely use but still it was annoying to say the least. I'll check this out

I use MailWasher and I love it. I am on line constantly and I used to have OutlookExpress invoked all the time to recieve my mail now I use MailWAsher and invoke Outlook once or twice a day.

MailWasher will allow you to bounce unwanted E-mails back to the sender, so eventually you will be taken off of the list. I have this really irritating thing happen to me. I went out to a Janpanese artists site and loved his work, signed his guest book (don't sign guest books it's the way people and companies can get your info) and now I recieve about 20 spams from Asian sites everyday. Using MailWasher, I bounce them back and now they are begining to lessen.

It also allows you to delete messages right from the server with out having to go out and do it from the server itself.

Besides "PopUp" MailWasher is an invaluable addition to anyones on line defenses, and it's free, but you can pay him a little $$ through PayPal and he will send you a registration code that gives you a few more helpful little things. Can't remember what off hand. I'm at work.

So go out and get a copy, it's great. No, I'm not a sales person and this is my real hair

But there's just one problem. All my e-mail is all soggy. Isn't there a MailDryer available yet or is it still in development?

What about for those delicate e-mails? Will there be a Mail Dry Cleaner?

... Tao sounds interesting I'll check it out.

BTW A bit of spam oneupmanship coming in (if there is such a thing?!)... a while back we received 15,000 e-mails all exactly the same from the same source! We eventually managed to put a block on the e-mail address it was coming from but, boy, it took around 10 hours to clear it all out.

Thanks for the extra info also RAMWolff, this program looks like it would be very useful.

    Regards

    Su
