Simple one on brushes

Hi,

I have PhotoShop7 (but several books on 6!) and am having extreme trouble creating a simple brush!

Surely I can select an area on screen and turn it into a brush can't I?

I've checked the help files, the books I have, etc. All to no avail.

Any help much appreciated.

Welcome to the board J@ack!
The answer is already in your question. You create a brush by selecting an area that you want to use for your brush, by using any of the selection tools. When you're done selecting, go to edit/define brush. [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif[/img]
