Our company is developed usefull program for graphic designers who work with Adobe, Macromedia, Quark products - Workspace Maximizer. It turns all the secondary windows to auto-hide state. This lets you maximize your editing space without the other windows getting in your way until you need them. All the secondary windows (palettes) will be hidden out of the screen and when you need them you simply move the mouse's pointer to the edge of the monitor (where this palette is hidden) and the palette will be restored automatically.
