    Hi jk...

Photoshop will save a palette as one of those extensions by default.

    2 ways of creating/saving a palette:

    1) Add, subtract or modify colours in your dfeualt palette until you have what you want. Click the small black arrow - top-right of the colour palette - and within that menu choose "Save Swatches...". Photoshop will automaticallt save the palette using the .ACO extension.

    2) Open an image/photo. Under the IMAGE/Mode menu, convert the document to "Index Color". From within that same menu, mouse to the bottom and choose the "Color Table..." option. Photoshop will automatically create a cistom palette for you based on just the colours used in your open document. Click the "SAVE..." button, and Photoshop will automatically save the palette using the .ACT extension. (Adobe Colour Table)

If ou're on a PC, you can also save the palette as a .PAL file. (windows colour palette)
    That answer anything for you?
