Hi - This little animation was lost over in the main Xara forum. It was very easy to make using the spiro-brush technique discussed here in the main forum. Each frame of the animation was a copy of the previous frame with only the brush's "brush angle" slider adjusted up a notch. Because zero degrees and 360 degrees are the same, the animation loops smoothly.

I encourage others to try making ones - they are fun to make and even more fun to watch.

Regards, Ross

I hear they are going to make another Austin Power's movie. This groovy animation was made to get everyone in the "mood"...

The technique is a great way to make annoying animated "bullets" for websites.

Ross,
Spirograph, and now psycodelic "buttons" you may start a retro movement is art.

From your picture, you look too young to remember the '60s

Very cool animations!

Ross

If you want to add a bit of depth to your mind-numbing animation evenly vary the spacing between rows.

When viewed as a stereogram, the close together objects will come forward while the further apart objects will recede.

If you are not familiar with viewing stereograms, let your eyes relax and try to look beyond the images. Eventually your brain will interpret the differently-spaced images as depth.

I've made a "hamster-dance-type-thingie" using a cheezy midi version of purple haze. Find it here. It probably won't work for all browsers. Give it time to load please - and remember to turn it up loud!

PS - Soquili, I do remember the 60's although from a child's eye.(I'll be 40 this year). My older sister is still trapped in the 60's.
