Which navigation design do you like best ?

I have this site ready to go up and have got good feedback on the fallowing URL :

Some people though, have noted they do not like the pop-up window for the main site. So I'm trying to come up with an alternative navigation system and wondering if you could please give me your take on the alternative below :

I'm especially interested to hear what you PC folks think as I was only able to test it on IE6.0 for a PC. It has been tested a little bit more extensively for a Mac as it was designed on one...

The one design I can see looks great in Opera 6 on a PC.
But I would like to see the second design that doesn't rely on pop-ups because until I remembered that I'd got refuse pop-ups turned on I couldn't get into the site.
