.jpg Images distorted?

I have a few websites that I have done that I am noticing something odd recently. When my page first loads, everything looks fine, layout, .jpgs, .gifs, etc. However, when I scroll down the page everything (graphics) appear fine. When I scroll back up the page the .jpgs are now distorted. If I refresh, everything is OK. My client first noticed this, and I am stumped. I am using a cable modem and she is on a dial-up. We are not using AOL, does anyone know what might be happening? One of the images in question is a 300dpi, 109k file size. There are several photos on the page and we are using IE 5.0.

How about a link to one of the sites, so we can test it, too, check out the code, etc.? It sounds like a browser problem, and testing it with numerous browsers should be the first step.

I have seen this phenomena occasionally, on other sites. It would be great to get to the bottom of it.

I have IE 5.5, Netscape 4.7, and Opera 5.2.

No distortion of any of the photos. I did a lot scrolling, and could not duplicate the problem with my browsers.

I checked my IE Tools/Internet Options/Advanced Tab, and I had the following checked under Multimedia: Play Animations/Sounds/Videos, Show Pictures, and Smart Image Dithering. Also, under Browsing, Use Smooth Scrolling is checked.

Sorry I couldn't duplicate the problem. Maybe some of our more experienced members can suggest solutions. Seems I've read of monitor settings affecting screen redraw.
