help me. but now i have the light of hope..

1. when i drawing my picture, my best painting trouble point is Depth of background image.
It always my serious point

2.plz help me how can i draw suitable background image .

a depth question... boy, judging from your work i think you know the answer already. nice painterly and gestural work! there is no magic technique for backgrounds. you have a specific style of rendering which is going to force you to develop special ways to execute a background. you have the talent to solve it!

Hi Hong and welcome to the Painter forum.
I also took a look at your site. I have to tell you that I agree with Stecyk66. I think you should let your style of rendering dictate your backgrounds. You have to determine for youself, what makes your image say want you want.(another reference to story telling).
Good luck with your art. I am looking forward to seeing some of it in the forum

You tend to have the same problem as me. I tend to focus too much on the main element of the painting and do not give enough attention to the background. As a result, the main subject does not 'connect' with the rest of the painting.

Perhaps you could focus less on one item in the picture, and give equal importance and attention to every detail that fills your picture.

You could also try to paint more quickly to stop yourself going into too much detail with one element. Also, if you do a portrait, try placing the person to one side of the picture to force yourself to look for something to fill this big empty space you now have. Make this background appear connected with the portrait rather than something thrown in as an afterthought.

Try leaving the main subject as an outline and concentrate on painting the background first. After you are happy with the background detail, then begin to paint the main subject in the case of a portrait. You need to see and paint everything within your imaginary frame.

I like painting with corel painter.
but there's no proper book what i want.
the book what i want is tutorial book.
in korea painter book publish situation is too
weak. because user-figure is too small.

now i use painter6. & study PDF files.
but it is uneffective for me. only explain
button & it's function..

but now i have big brother..in here.

Some of the images you have posted are illustrations which focus on a particular object, and therefore need a vague background. For the larger scenes remember that a thing exists in its world and not by itself. This means you have to imagine the background in your mind as much as you imagine the object itself. This means more work. [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif[/img]

Remember that Painter is designed for use by people already comfortable with traditional methods of oil, watercolor, pastel, and so on. Most of what you learn about painting oil can be used in Painter once you get comfortable working with the software.

As for books, keep studying English as much as you can tolerate doing it. All of the best books on software are in English. Most of the information on the Internet is in English too, so you'll benefit in the long run.
