Dowloading Flash movies

This might be a stupid question to some of you, I dont know!
But is there a way to download flash movies on a mac and play them from your desktop with er....say Quicktime or something like that.

heh - if you have internet explorer, just drop the movies into i.e., and it should play them as long as you have the flash plugin installed (same for mozilla or netscape, etc.)
