I don't know that any of the family members of the Columbia astronauts would see this thread. But I am very sorry to hear about this. It is another sad day for the United States. I have been watching the news coverage most of the day.

Some more great people have given their lives for their country. They are now heros forever. My sympathies go out to the freinds and families.

It is sad that this happens at all.

But each person on the Shuttle Program knows the risk, and yet they continue to go.

Having worked in the aerospace arena from 1960 to 1994, I have watched with pride at what the human spirit is capable of accomplishing.

Lets honor them ALL and their pioneer spirit.

When we quit pushing the limits of whatever we do - we might as well hang it up.

    Nothing Ventured - Nothing Gained!

    God Speed to Them All!

There will be much fingerpointing before the dust settles on this one. But their spirit will continue.
