I'll probably not make it to xara heaven for what I've done to the old man. I tried to play with what Gary wrote about reflections. One thing lead to another until I ended up with the attached image.

By the way the cool "wallpaper" comes from the xara3d textures.

Gary is right as usual. The reflections are all we see. Of course, I had a chemistry professor that would argue that glass is never truely clear.

Great reflection Ross!! The old man looks like he is comtemplating the evening, or is it his own reflection?

Soquili - I suspect the old man is wondering why the window bars are positioned right at his eye height! Don't you just hate when that happens?

What you can't see is the old man had a great view on the other side of his house. He installed a set of patio doors so he could see it from the rocker. He liked the view so much he pulled some more money from his mattress and built a big deck. Of course it needed a railing. Problem is he now sits on the rocker and can't see the view - only the damned railing. Typical situation...

We are all designers. It is part of being human. Birds design nests - we design decks, windows, and illustrations. I urge all us "designers" to be more aware of the things we are designing. I look at the reflection of the old man and regret I didn't "design" it so you could see his eyes. I should have been more alert. Well there's always a next time...

Sorry for getting side-tracked. We all need to remain critical of the things we design - so the next time we can do better. I really like these forums because we can learn from each other. Maybe someone will have learned from this to avoid another stupid deck railing!

    Regards, Ross

P.S. - I promise to try and stay on-topic in the future!

Ross, the folks where I live would just take a chain saw to the railing to clear the view.

My vote goes for the old man retaining his window bars and railings and getting rid of the wall paper

Nice effect Ross. Now all it needs is some rain drops.
