You really go for the tricky subject matters, I can't imagine anything more difficult than to draw a face on the PC, especially with all to smooth gradients in the face.

The eyes really catch your attention in this one, Dmagician said hypnotising... which is a great description!

It is great to have you back, Soquili!

...after such compliments. The lady in the drawing is Yancy Butler. She currently has a series on the TNT network called "Witch Blade". Her eyes were intended to be the focal point of the drawing, as I feel the eyes are truely a window into the inner person.

I hope the changes I've made haven't detracted from the original.

    Thanks to you all!

This is very crude but this is what I was taling about when I said to have one side of her face in shadow and more shadows under her brow to give more depth to her eyes.

I did this with two overlayed shapes, transparency and feathering.

The technique is not unlike that used by painters who use transparent glazes to build up shapes.

I think a little lighter on the shadow. The hair is looking much better.

    Hi Bruce,

I thought the shadow might be too deep. Thanks for confirming it for me.

Your actress is getting nicer all the time! Hope you don't mind, but I wanted to try sketching her in another way...

I check this thread as I'm curious to see another revision of this great picture. I think that your latest post still has the shade too dark.

    Borlip. Great!

    Hi Roman,

I guess I should have posted the lastest version last night.

    Borlip - Nice drawing.

But the shade is still too dark for me.
