    Hi Randy,

Great modeling. Did you model the flames, or are they added in post work?

The flames are from a tutorial I did some time ago. So they are modeled, but I can't take credit for creating them. By the way the are animated, so they flicker and move. The animation is done with the Nickle plugin.

Nice Randy! I have to agree with gidgit, the thing that stood out for me was the glass, it looks very thick on the bottom. Then the flames, they are awesome!

gidgit - Thanks! The glass by the way came from the glass tutorial in the 2nd edition of 3D Attach e-zine. With a tweak or two and an HDRI map for reflections.

Teknal - The glass is very thick. It is a very heavy glass cake plate. Thanks for looking.

    Very nice image Randy.
How many stars are on that flag?
My favorite part is the thin red candy stripe (for lack of a better name) on the cake, the glass is most excellent as well.
Perhaps more bump on the frosting mat. may add to the realism.

Mike B - There are only 30 stars, Hey its just a cake I agree with about the bump, but I could not get it the way I wanted in the time I had. I also tried to do a cake texture so I could have a sliced cut and on a plate. So if anybody has any tips on making a cake texture, shoot them my way
