I have a graphic a customer wants to make transparent for the web. It is a globe with a drop shadow. When I do my old trick of putting a gaudy colored background and making that the transparent color, I get several shades of the gaudy color inside the drop shadow. Any one know of a way to make the more than one color transparent in a gif?

Or, does anyone have an idea of how to make a drop shadow transparent?

That might be an answer except the image is very colorful and the more colors a PNG has, the larger the file. They decided to do it a different way in house.

I appreciate the help and will use that method in the future.
