passing variables

i am having a little trouble with this one. i have no trouble setting a variable in a flash movie. what i am wanting to do is to load another flash movie into the same location and to pass on a variable from the previous one. is this possible? do i "load variables into location", the location being the second movie? do i use the POST method? does the second movie need any commands?

just target the other movie by calling its level (like level0/myMovieClip/MyVariable).
That should do it.
